Initial Committee Suggestions
I. Sanctuary/Altar
a. New rounded and larger tabernacle
b. Change stands for statues at front to match altar, tabernacle
c. New presider and deacon chair
d. New creedence table for wine etc
e. New wood altar
f. New ambo that is handicap accessible
g. New furnishings for sanctuary
h. Make handicap accessible – ramp
i. Ambry for oils
II. Nave – Body of Church
a. Refinish pews – keep seating as close to what is now for future needs
b. Portable seating in first pew or shorten front rail & 2 pews behind it by 3 feet on each side of aisle for funerals and place to sit for wheelchair bound individuals6
c. Make more space between pews
d. Restore Stations of the Cross and all statues
e. Build a confessional that will fit in the current space
f. Fix leak in stained glass window above baptismal font so when we paint it will not fall apart
III. Entry – Gathering space
a. Remove cry room
b. Incorporate old cry room into new entry/gathering area
c. Keep wood doors in back, put in stained glass windows
d. Building baptismal font of brick and big enough for full immersion
e. Put reconciliation room in back
f. Large coat rack
IV. Overall in upstairs
a. Paint everything
b. Refinish all woodwork
c. New flooring everywhere
d. Raise/change side lights

b. Serving area between kitchen and dining are redone for better serving set-up

VIII. Classroom/dining area in basement
a. Partitions that come down from ceiling or retractable walls for dividers

IX. Overall downstairs
a. New electrical throughout
b. Finish storage area in back and reorganize

f. When putting in new flooring put in radiant floor heat to remove need for furnace in kitchen

X. Outside
a. Remove trees on each side of sidewalks on west side

c. Area of reflection in front of rectory with plants, benches, etc.
d. Planters/landscaping in front of church
e. Better lighting at entries and as accent
f. Awning over main entrance
g. Highlight or change first step when leaving the main entrance for safety
Comments were consistent in wanting to keep the historic value and feel of the church. There was concern to not lose too much seating space. Members wanted to upgrade and spruce things up, but not do a total overhaul of the building.
